Whether on your property or at The Healing Barn in Southeast Melbourne, I work closely with vets, farriers, and trainers to tailor care to your horse’s individual needs.
Working closely with vets, farriers, and trainers, I provide tailored treatments that support your horse’s unique needs, whether I come to you or you come to us at The Healing Barn in Southeast Melbourne.
Horses have been apart of my life since childhood. Growing up with racehorses, I helped my grandparents care for them on the track and at the farm, alongside their other horses that went on to serve royals!
Since then, I’ve involved myself in eventing, endurance riding, strapping, and judging, supported by extensive training and diplomas in equine science, barefoot trimming, acupuncture, and five dissections led by Sharon May-Davies.
I’ve trained and been assessed under Olympians, international Olympian vets team members and international eventers, and bring a whole-horse approach to every treatment.
As a former gym owner and qualified human therapist, I understand how a rider’s posture impacts their horse’s movement. Since a horse and rider move as one, I also offer treatments for riders to improve alignment and enhance overall performance.
Let’s keep your horse sound, comfortable, and performing at its best!

Acupuncture involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body to promote health, alleviate pain, and address a wide range of medical conditions. It’s clinically proven to support chronic pain, nerve damage, internal imbalances, and inflammation in both horses and dogs. Often used in recovery from paralysis—including tick paralysis and spinal trauma—it works by stimulating the nervous system and activating the body’s natural repair response. Drug-free and results-driven, it’s a powerful addition to any rehab or wellness plan
Bowen therapy seeks to balance and align the body’s systems, particularly the musculoskeletal system, by targeting trigger points and fascial areas, releasing muscle tension to improve flexibility. It influences the autonomic nervous system for stress management including trauma, stimulates the body’s healing response by enhancing circulation, accelerating tissue healing, and reducing inflammation.

Our ANS is part of our CNS and controls our flee or fight, the sympathetic, parasympathetic and enteric system, also regulating blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory, digestion and sexual arousal.
Myotherapy utilises techniques such as massage, stretching, and targeted exercises to alleviate muscle tension, improve flexibility, and promote overall musculoskeletal health. Whether your horse is experiencing tightness, muscle spasms, or postural imbalances, Myotherapy can provide relief and aid in the recovery process.

Cold laser therapy, also called low-level laser therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation (PBM), is a non-invasive medical treatment using low-level lasers or LEDs to stimulate cellular function. Unlike high-power surgical lasers, cold lasers emit safe, low-level light that doesn’t generate heat, making them suitable for therapeutic purposes. Cold laser has a stronger wavelength, allowing it to target specific areas more effectively compared to red light therapy.
Cellular Stimulation: The laser will penetrate through the skin and into the cells, and transfer energy inside the cells.
Anti-Inflammatory Reduces inflammation of the treated area.
Tissue Repair & Healing: Promotes tissue repair, accelerating the healing of injuries, wounds, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Improved Blood Circulation: Brings oxygen and nutrients to the injured tissue. Enhances blood circulation.
Musculoskeletal: Cold laser is great for arthritis, hematomas, bone injuries, muscle tears, joint pain, tendonitis, and sports injuries.
Kinesiology tape also known as Physio Tape benefits horses by giving support and stability to their muscles and joints. This involves using a stretchy tape on specific areas to improve blood flow, reduce swelling, and enhance body awareness (proprioception). It’s a common practice for helping horses recover from injuries, enhance performance, and prevent future problems.
Muscle Support: Used to support muscles during movement, helping to reduce strain and fatigue.
Joint Stability: Providing additional support to joints, promoting stability and preventing excessive movement.
Blood Circulation: Allowing enhanced blood flow to certain areas of the injury, which may contribute to better oxygenation and nutrient delivery to the injury.
Inflammation Reduction: Aids in reducing inflammation in the targeted area, supporting the body’s natural healing processes.
Proprioception Enhancement: Physio tape can improve proprioception, the body’s awareness of its position in space. This may contribute to improved coordination and movement control.
Pain Management: Providing relief from pain through the use of physio tape, as it can provide support and reduce discomfort in certain conditions.
Injury Rehabilitation: Physio tape is commonly used in rehabilitation settings to aid in the recovery of injured muscles and joints
Stretching and tailored exercises may be added to your horse’s treatment plan to help improve flexibility, correct imbalances, and support long-term soundness.
These are not always included in the first session — I often like to assess how your horse responds to initial hands-on therapy before introducing further movement work. This ensures we’re building the right plan at the right time for your horse’s needs.
When ready, you’ll be given targeted, easy-to-follow stretches or exercises, either in person or as part of your follow-up summary.
Treating both the horse and rider is often key. A horse’s symptoms may continue to return until the rider’s underlying issue is addressed. Taking a holistic approach supports the musculoskeletal health of both partners, helping prevent injury, restore natural movement, and improve overall comfort, connection, and performance
Posture and Alignment: Improving riders posture, alignment, and balance, allowing better communication under saddle.
Muscle Conditioning: addressing any muscle imbalances or weaknesses in riders, promoting better stability during riding.
Pain Management: Providing relief and to help manage conditions such as back pain, joint issues or discomfort within the body.
Enhanced Performance: Enhancing the rider’s physical condition allows a harmonious and effective partnership with the horse, resulting in enhanced overall performance.

For remote and international clients.
This 1-on-1 session is designed to help you support your horse when hands-on treatment isn’t possible. Perfect for remote or international clients, it focuses on one key issue — with bodywork completely tailored to your horse’s individual needs.
Delivered via Video call, this session focuses on one area of concern and provides up-to 3 hands-on techniques tailored to your horse’s individual needs
Before the session, you’ll send videos, photos, and a brief form so I can assess your horse’s posture, movement, and hooves.
During our video call, we’ll:
✔ Review your footage to spot areas of concern
✔ Work through up to three hands-on techniques
✔ Make sure you feel confident applying them safely
Whether something feels “off” or you already know the problem, I can remotely guide you step by step to help you and your horse out.
⚠️ A video consult can’t replace a full hands-on assessment — some things may be missed without palpation. This service is only offered to clients I can’t treat in person.
In 2023, I took a deep dive into the world of barefoot trimming by completing an advanced course as i felt non of my previous qualifications or courses had touched down on hooves or the biomechanical role that hooves play to the rest of the body, crazy right!
Some of you may remember, i gave it a crack after completing the course but then i had to deal with pesky flies, handling those heavy nippers, and constantly hunching over, I realised very quickly it wasn’t exactly my cup of tea in real-world situations. Thankfully, I discovered the fun parts, like rasping, addressing flares, removing bars, and helping out with abscesses along with fixing cracks in hooves via acupuncture.
Since I found some fun parts and i have the skills I have decided I am more than happy to pick the tools up for one-off situations when you book a treatment. I figured this could be helpful, especially when your regular farrier is taking a well-deserved holiday or is swamped with appointments 🙂
Slowly making progress—currently studying equine nutrition at a gradual pace, with biomechanics as my main focus.
